Arrive in Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang – China's farthest city from the ocean and a plateau metropolis where diverse cultures converge. Transfer to a downtown hotel after airport pick-up to recharge for the upcoming magnificent journey.

Depart for Koktokay, a hidden gem in northern Xinjiang. Cross the Kalameili Ungulate Nature Reserve along the way, where you may be lucky enough to spot goitered gazelles and Mongolian wild asses galloping on the grassland.
